In Year Admissions

If you have moved, you can apply to change schools during the school year. This is called an "in-year admission". You can also apply if you would like your child to attend a different school.

In the Year, Admissions are managed by Hertfordshire County Council.

Maple Grove Primary School admits 30 children to Reception and Years 1-6.

Applying for a Reception Place

If your child was born between September 1, 2021, and August 31, 2022, they are due to start Reception at a primary school in September 2026.

Hertfordshire County Council manages Reception Admissions.

Applying for a Nursery Place

We offer 30 Nursery places for children who have turned three years old. Children can start nursery when they are three.

You are welcome to come and visit our school and the Nursury class on the following days:

19th November 2:00 pm   27th November 2:00 pm
4th December 2:00 pm   11th December 9.15 am

Applications can be made from 3rd February 2026 by completing an online application.

Applications must be received by 9.00 a.m. on 10th March 2026.

The allocation day will be 16th April 2026, and places must be accepted or declined by 25th April 2026.

Applications received after 14th March 2026 will be accepted and treated as late applications, as per our Nursery Admissions Policy, which can be found at the link below.

The local authority is responsible for the admissions and appeals at Maple Grove Primary School. The school is accountable only for Nursery admissions. Please note that admission into our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our Reception.
