"Learning and Growing Together"

Week 2 Update

Dear Parent/Carers

I do hope that you are all well and managing to keep safe by social-distancing. The school is very quiet at the moment and I, and the staff are looking forward to the return of normality and school life with your enthusiastic children as soon as it is possible.

In the meantime, the teaching staff are continuing to provide opportunities and ideas for home learning. Mr Gardner will be sending a home schooling curriculum update later today, to support you over the Easter holiday period.

I can imagine how difficult home schooling is for parents and children. My advice would be to do what you can (don’t stress if you can’t do everything), keep a routine and stay positive. Any learning is good learning!

Although the school is closed, it is voluntarily running a ‘skeleton staff’ to provide critical childcare over the Easter period and beyond, for the parents who are critical workers in the response to COVID-19.

I would like to thank all the critical workers for everything that they are doing and the risks that they are putting themselves and families in. This includes my staff who are still coming in to school to provide critical childcare.

Finally, my thanks to all our parents and carers who are supporting our school and their children’s learning in these very difficult times, and to everyone who is staying at home to stop the spreading of the virus.

Take care and be safe.

Kind regards

Geoff Allen
